Power of Attorney Kit
A power of attorney is a legal document that gives another person the power to look after your financial and legal affairs if you cannot do this yourself or if you wish that person to do it for you.
You can use this do-it-yourself kit to make valid power of attorney documents as long as you are mentally competent.
There must be a witness at the signing. Anyone signing as a witness must be 18 years of age or older and mentally competent. The witness cannot be the person named as the attorney or the spouse of the person named as the attorney.
In this kit, you will find four forms for creating and cancelling the power of attorney documents. These forms are only valid in PEI.
If you have already ordered and received the full Power of Attorney Kit but lost the forms that were included or cannot use them because you made an error, you can order the replacement forms.
The Power of Attorney Kit for One Person includes a set of forms and an instruction booklet. The Power of Attorney Kit for Two People includes two sets of forms and one instruction booklet that can be shared.
